IN-CONVERSION COTTON


The transition period for a farmer to get the organic certification takes an average of three years as the soil needs to recover from the practices commonly used in conventional cotton farming. In this period, the farmers are not paid extra – known as the ‘organic premium’ – for their hard work and effort to transition. When being supported under the Direct-To-Farm programme, the farmers will be paid a premium while converting their farm to organic practices and requirements (to ensure the land eventually qualifies to be certified organic under international standards).
Minimum content requirement is 50%.

CMIA ORGANIC COTTON 

Cotton made in Africa (CmiA) is an initiative of the Aid by Trade Foundation. Their goal is to help people help themselves, via trade rather than donations. CmiA Organic cotton provides an online tracking system to facilitate transparency throughout the value chain, allowing the cotton to be traced back from the field to the finished product. 
Minimum content requirement is 50%.

Organic silk is grown according to organic farming practices.

Organic hemp is grown according to organic farming practices.
Minimum content requirement is 50%

RECYCLED COTTON

Recycled cotton is typically made from manufacturing waste like leftover fabric scraps or from used cotton garments and textiles. 
Minimum content requirement is 20%.



RECYCLED POLYESTER 

Recycled polyester is a synthetic material typically made from waste items like plastic bottles or leftover textiles waste from manufacturing.
Minimum content requirement is 50%. 



RECYCLED WOOL 

Recycled wool is typically made from manufacturing waste like leftover fabric scraps or from used wool garments and textiles. 
Minimum content requirement is 30%.

 

 

RECYCLED NYLON

Recycled nylon – also known as polyamide - is a synthetic material commonly sourced from leftover fabric scraps collected from the spinning factory and waste from weaving mills.  
Minimum content requirement is 50%.

Recycled polyamide is a synthetic material commonly sourced from  leftover fabric scraps collected from the spinning factory and waste from weaving mills.
Minimum content requirement is 50%.

TENCEL™ branded lyocell fibres are cellulose fibres made from wood pulp. TENCEL™ is a trademark of Lenzing AG.

TENCEL™ Modal fibres are made from wood pulp. TENCEL™ is a trademark of Lenzing AG.

TENCEL™ REFIBRA™ 

TENCEL™ REFIBRA™ fibres are cellulose fibres made from wood pulp mixed with 30% cotton waste from textile manufacturing. TENCEL™ REFIBRA™ is a trademark of Lenzing AG.

LENZING™ ECOVERO™ 

LENZING™ ECOVERO™ fibres are viscose fibres made from wood pulp. LENZING™ ECOVERO™ fibres are EU Ecolabel certified. LENZING™ and ECOVERO™ are trademarks of Lenzing AG.

LIVAECO BY BIRLA CELLULOSE™  

Livaeco™ by Birla Cellulose is a man-made cellulosic fibre from wood pulp sourced from FSC® certified forests. 
Minimum content requirement is 50%.



LIVAECO™ MODAL 

Livaeco™ Modal by Birla Cellulose is a man-made cellulosic fibre made from wood pulp sourced from FSC® certified forests and is traceable across the value chain. 
Minimum content requirement is 50%.



eastman naia™ renew

Eastman Naia™ Renew is a cellulosic fibre produced from 60% wood pulp derived from controlled or certified forests and 40% recycled waste materials allocated via a certified mass balance system.
Minimum content requirement is 40%.

 

Viscose Tangcell™ ReVisco™ - OnceMore®

A viscose fibre made from 100% OnceMore® pulp, a cellulose fiber partly made from textile waste and wood pulp. OnceMore combines a minimum of 20% recycled textile with wood from controlled or certified forests.
Minimum content requirement is 100%.

 

Viscose Tangcell™ ReVisco™ - CIRCULOSE®

A viscose fibre made from min 50% CIRCULOSE® pulp, a cellulose pulp made from 100% textile waste.  CIRCULOSE® is made by turning discarded cotton textiles into a pulp, which can then be made into new fibers, yarns and fabrics.
Minimum content requirement is 50%.

 

Viscose Liva Reviva - CIRCULOSE®

A viscose fibre made from min 50% CIRCULOSE® pulp, a cellulose pulp made from textile waste. CIRCULOSE® is made by turning discarded cotton textiles into a pulp, which can then be made into new fibers, yarns and fabrics.
Minimum content requirement is 50%.

 

Viscose ECOVERO™ REFIBRA™ - OnceMore®

A viscose fibre made from 100% OnceMore® pulp, a cellulose fiber partly made from textile waste and wood pulp. OnceMore combines a minimum of 20% recycled textile with wood from controlled or certified forests.

Lyocell TENCEL™ REFIBRA™ - OnceMore®

A viscose fibre made from 100% OnceMore® pulp, a cellulose fiber partly made from textile waste and wood pulp. OnceMore combines a minimum of 20% recycled textile with wood from controlled or certified forests.
Minimum content requirement is 100%.

 

Lyocell Liva Reviva™ – Circ®

Circ® Lyocell is a regenerated cellulose fibre made from textile waste. Circ® technology uses a hydrothermal process to separate and recover cotton and polyester from textile waste, enabling fibre-to-fibre recycling. 
Minimum content requirement is 100%.

The Good Cashmere Standard® 

The Good Cashmere Standard® was developed in response to the growing need and demand for more transparent and traceable cashmere production.  

The Good Cashmere Standard® is a trademark of the Aid by Trade Foundation. 

Minimum 30% of cashmere content in main fabric is required.



Certified Down

As per BESTSELLER's animal welfare policy, all virgin down used in our products are sourced from sources certified sources.

The certification requires animal welfare practices to be in place at the duck and goose farms in the down and feather supply chain.

In order for us to claim certified down, 100% of down and feather fillings used in the product should be from RDS certified sources unless certified recycled down is used. No blending with polyester is allowed.



Certified Mohair 

As per BESTSELLER's animal welfare policy, all mohair used in our products are sourced from sources certified sources. The certification verifies mohair animal welfare and land management requirements.
Minimum content requirement is 20%.

Certified Wool

Certified wool verifies wool animal welfare and land management requirements.  
Minimum content requirement is 20%.

 

Certified Alpaca

Certified Alpaca verifies alpaca animal welfare and land management requirements.
Minimum content requirement is 20%. 

 

Nativaregen™ wool
