Supply Chain Due Diligence Report

Our Supply Chain Due Diligence Report is a step forward in our efforts to be more transparent about how we operate responsibly across our global supply chain.  With over 350 suppliers and 700 factories in 18 countries employing around 700,000 people, this is no small task, but it’s something we’re committed to improving year on year.

This new Supply Chain Due Diligence Report for 2023-24 offers an in-depth look at our work and how we’re reducing risks across our company.

Some key highlights from the report include:

  • Human Rights & Environmental Risks: The report provides a clear overview of the policies and frameworks the company uses to identify and manage risks throughout its supply chain.

  • Supplier Engagement: The company details its approach to assessing suppliers, their factories, and its processes for developing corrective actions where necessary.

  • Collaborative Efforts: BESTSELLER’s engagement with key stakeholders such as unions and industry organisations like the International Accord are explained, demonstrating the company’s proactive role in improving industry practices.

Our approach to due diligence follows guidance from international bodies like the OECD and the United Nations. The launch of this report is another step we’re taking to be more transparent about our supply chain operations, but we know there’s still work to do. We’re committed to learning, improving, and finding new ways to increase transparency and accountability.

Looking ahead, by 2025-26, we’ll start reporting in line with the European Union’s new Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence and Corporate Sustainability Reporting directives. While we’re already well aligned with these requirements, we recognise that there’s always room for improvement.

BESTSELLER has been active in Myanmar since 2014. Since then, our due diligence has increased year on year, and with the unrest and instability following the coup in 2021, BESTSELLER has continuously monitored the situation in Myanmar closely – to act accordingly in line with the occurring situation and to make sure that our corporate social responsibility meets the highest international standards.

As part of our commitment to responsible business conduct, BESTSELLER has published a region of heightened human rights due diligence report, which offers transparency into our comprehension and approach to heightened due diligence in Myanmar. The report’s aim is to provide clarity on the measures undertaken to promote, protect, and remedy human rights concerns in this region.

Bangladesh is an essential country in BESTSELLER's global supply chainBESTSELLER sources from 99 factories employing an estimated 350,000 people in the country.

Given BESTSELLER’s significant business presence in Bangladesh, the ongoing political instability and associated risks necessitate a continuous assessment of emerging threats to human rights and a proactive approach to human rights due diligence.

As part of its commitment to responsible business conduct, BESTSELLER has published an enhanced human rights due dilligence report, which details BESTSELLER’s enhanced focus on human rights, steps taken to mitigate identified risks and expectations for suppliers.
