In the wake of the devastating earthquake that struck Myanmar on 28 March, causing widespread damage and casualties, BESTSELLER Foundation is providing critical assistance to children and their families by sharing a donation through Save the Children.

"The earthquake has upended lives across Myanmar and our urgent support is essential to respond to critical needs. Children are especially vulnerable in crises like this due to the loss of parents and caregivers, and the destruction of schools and familiar places, all of which can have long-term mental health effects on their well-being,” says Line Boss, Impact Director at BESTSELLER Foundation.

The international children’s organisation anticipates that the immediate and long-term needs will include access to safe shelter, food, clean water, healthcare, and education among other necessities.

Supporting our supply chain partners

Myanmar is a valued part of BESTSELLER's global supply chain. The majority of our Myanmar suppliers are based in and around Yangon, an area that experienced limited impact from the earthquake. All 22 factories operating for BESTSELLER within the country have confirmed that their colleagues are safe and the facilities remain structurally sound.

“We will continue to monitor the situation closely and stay in dialogue with our supply chain partners. We are committed to supporting our suppliers and their employees in the weeks and months ahead, ensuring they have the assistance they need as recovery efforts progress,” says Michael W. Schultze, Director, Global Supply Chain & Global Sourcing at BESTSELLER.
