BESTSELLER colleagues are now being rewarded with an extra week's salary after reaching bonus targets linked to BESTSELLER’s work on sustainability within core business areas. This comes at a challenging time for BESTSELLER due to global uncertainty.
BESTSELLER has achieved a number of key sustainability goals, which the Danish fashion company set out to accelerate throughout 2025. As a result, BESTSELLER is now paying out an extra week's salary in bonuses to thousands of colleagues.
"The past year has shown an extraordinary effort and final sprint from all our colleagues, enabling us to reach some fundamental sustainability targets for our company. Change requires collective action, and now we have results that are making a real difference – and a wealth of valuable learning that we can take forward," says Anders Holch Povlsen, CEO and owner of BESTSELLER.
"It hasn't been easy, but it has been important. It’s testament to a solid team effort, and we are grateful that our colleagues have contributed to achieving our ambitions. This has happened despite difficult months, which will particularly challenge us in the coming period.”
Core business targets
It is the first time in BESTSELLER’s history that colleagues across brands and functions have been included in collective sustainability bonus targets.
The specific targets aim to help BESTSELLER achieve a range of goals related to material and supplier collaborations, all of which belong to core areas within the fashion industry. The intention with the goals has been to motivate all BESTSELLER colleagues to contribute to advancing the transformation of the business.
In total, the bonus for colleagues in BESTSELLER adds up to DKK 80 million. Top management is excluded from the special bonus as they are already measured on our sustainability work.
Focus forward
In 2018, BESTSELLER set a long list of sustainability targets to be achieved by the end of 2025. In the coming months, BESTSELLER will assess its overall results, already knowing that the vast majority of goals have been met.
“Now we need to look into and evaluate all our 2025 goals, which we have been working towards for the past several years. After that, we’ll be setting new targets and ambitions towards 2030, designed to drive our business and the wider industry even further, says Anders Holch Polvsen, concluding:
“We will maintain our focus on integrating sustainability into our core business, on setting new ambitious targets, and on the people within our company. There’s no doubt that the challenges ahead will intensify, but that only illustrates the necessity of the task that we and the entire industry have ahead of us.”
