The NBT is hired locally at one of our global offices and the employment conditions are set to match local requirements and regulations. The terms and conditions therefore vary from country to country. 

BESTSELLER offers you an NBT package consisting of:

·         Temporary employment contract for a permanent position for the duration of the programme

·         A financed study trip to a European country and one of our global sourcing countries as a part of the school periods

·         Financed accommodation during the stationing(s) in Denmark

·         Salary paid from the local office during the two-year duration of the programme

·         Pension that will follow the same level as other colleagues in the local office

Please note that throughout the stationing(s) in Denmark, it is mandatory for all trainees regardless of nationality to live together with a fellow trainee in an apartment which BESTSELLER provides as a part of the salary.

·         The NBT is responsible for accommodation when working in the home country 

·         Employment after finalising the programme cannot be guaranteed. However, the stated goal is to take on a permanent position at BESTSELLER after completing the programme, as we see the programme as a long-term investment for both sides.

No, it is not necessary to have Danish language skills to become a National Business Trainee.

All NBT positions are located at one of our offices, but depending on the choice of specialist field and your work areas, a part of your job can also be to work with our stores.

Your primary work location will be in the country/city were hired. Your second work location will be in Denmark (Brande, Aarhus, Stilling or Haderslev). 

You will during the two-year programme have one or two stationing’s in Denmark with the first stationing being a length of 6 months. The length of the second stationing depends on your NBT journey but will normally be of a period of 3 months.

As an IBT, you're hired at one of our main offices in Denmark and the employment conditions are set to match Danish requirements and regulations. 

During the two-year programme you will as an NBT focus on developing your skills with the purpose of being able to take over a specific role within your field at the office you are hired after graduating from the NBT Programme.

An IBT will during the two-year programme focus on developing their skills with the purpose of being able to take over a specific role within their field at one of the offices in Denmark after graduating from the IBT Programme.

Yes. It is a requirement to have at least one stationing in Denmark, which is the first stationing, as this stationing includes the introduction week, school period 01 and 02.

The school periods are mandatory to attend and will always take place in Denmark. Some school periods will also include a field trip abroad.

In general, the application window for each new team of NBT's opens in January. The application window for the open NBT positions can vary, so please keep yourself updated through the online job adds, our website, and social media channels to be the first to know when we announce the official deadlines for the next team of NBT's.

The recruitment process can seem long, but we try our best to get our candidates through this process as fast as possible. We will make sure that all trainees are able to start in June.

In BESTSELLER, we emphasise “learning by doing”, therefore we do not make a career plan for our trainees, including a final job position, when they start up the Programme. We will have this dialogue on an ongoing basis throughout the two-year period. Though, we normally say that the sky is the limit, if our trainees are proving results. When recruiting for the NBT Programme, we aim to hire trainees that have the potential and want to be a part of BESTSELLER in the country were hired after graduating from the Programme. We see the NBT Programme as the start of a long-term collaboration.

As the NBT's are hired locally, the employment terms and conditions vary, but the standard setup of the two-year programme will be as shown in the timeline below. 

The NBT will both work in the country where hired and in Denmark. The majority of the time will take place in the home country. 

The NBT programme is built on the split of 90% hands-on learning by doing and 10% theoretical knowledge. This theoretical knowledge will take place over four school periods, both in Denmark and abroad. The NBT Programme includes four school periods. These school periods are mandatory and will all take place in Denmark. Some of the school periods will include field trips abroad. 

During the two-year programme, the NBT will attend four development talks with focus on general thrive, skills development, and the future perspective after graduating from the programme.
