THE TEAM
You will become part of a legal department of 24 highly skilled and engaged colleagues and work in an environment which is characterized by an informal tone, but also a high degree of professionalism. The legal department works in close partnership with the business and is involved in a wide range of key decisions and projects. Employment law is anchored as a specialized area within the team, and you will contribute significantly to the strategic legal advisory within this area. You will act as a close sparring partner to the business in connection with decisions at both HEARTLAND and across our portfolio companies.
THE ROLE
At United Law, you will take on a key role as a specialist within employment law in a constantly evolving organisation. You will work independently with legal advisory matters, while collaborating closely with colleagues in Legal and stakeholders across the business. Acting as a trusted sparring partner to the business, you will provide strategic employment law advice in connection with investments and decisions at HEARTLAND as well as support our portfolio companies, while also contributing to the continued strengthening and development of the legal function. While the role is primarily focused on employment law, it also includes involvement in selected lease-related legal matters connected to our BESTSELLER retail operations as well as contract‑law advisory across the organisation.
Your responsibilities will include, among others:
- Acting as the specialist and key advisor within employment law
- Providing strategic legal advice and sparring to the business and key stakeholders in Denmark and internationally
- Advising on upcoming employment legislation and providing guidance across the organisation
- Providing guidance on employment law in investment processes, including due diligence
- Contributing to the further development and strengthening of the legal function across the business
- Assisting with and advising on lease agreements and related legal matters connected to our retail operations
- Granting legal advice on a wide range of contract-law and commercial matters across the organisation

YOUR PROFILE
You are an experienced legal professional with strong expertise in employment law and clear ownership of your area. As a trusted specialist, you provide clear and pragmatic advice in complex situations and act as a strategic sparring partner to the business challenging when needed and contributing a solid legal and commercial perspective to decision-making. In a role with a broad organizational reach, you help set direction and strengthen the professional level within your area. You combine strong attention to detail with a high professional standard, communicate clearly, build strong relationships and consistently deliver high-quality legal work.
We imagine that you:
- Holds a Master’s degree in Law (cand.jur. or cand.merc.jur.)
- Has 6+ years of relevant experience within employment law, for example from a law firm, an in-house legal department, a trade union or employers’ association or a similar advisory role close to the business.
- Is fluent in Danish and English, written and spoken
