Within the APPRETIO team of 15, your focus will be on backend development, supporting the platform’s infrastructure to deliver a seamless and high-performance experience across all our applications.
YOUR NEW ROLE
As a Senior Backend Developer, you will be instrumental in building and optimizing backend systems for our AI-driven applications. Your role will involve technical leadership, guiding best practices for backend development, and working closely with frontend developers, data scientists, and DevOps engineers to deliver impactful solutions that empower data-driven decisions across our retail and e-commerce operations.
YOUR IMPACT
In this senior role, you will:
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python, FastAPI, Kubernetes, Docker, and PostgreSQL to ensure scalability, performance, and resilience.
- Architect APIs and data pipelines that power data-driven AI applications, optimizing data flow between systems for efficient data access and processing.
- Ensure seamless integration with data engineering tools such as Snowflake, dbt, Databricks, and Confluent Kafka, aligning with data architecture for efficient ETL and data processing.
- Drive CI/CD and deployment strategies to automate releases and streamline code deployment.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure a cohesive system architecture that meets business requirements and supports a high-quality user experience.
- Mentor and guide junior developers in best practices, code reviews, and technical design, fostering a collaborative team culture.

YOUR PROFILE
You are an experienced backend developer with a strong commitment to code quality and scalability. Your background includes:
- A degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
- Extensive experience with backend development tools like Python, FastAPI, Kubernetes, Docker, and PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of data engineering tools like Snowflake, dbt, Databricks, and Confluent Kafka.
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools and experience with building and maintaining production-grade applications.
- An understanding of data flows, ETL pipelines, and backend API architecture.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach to working with frontend and data engineering teams.
- Fluent English proficiency, both spoken and written.
The following qualifications would also be an advantage:
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure) and container orchestration with Helm.
- Experience with data security best practices and performance optimization for high-load applications.
- Interest in the AI domain and working with machine learning models within backend systems.
