BEING AN IBT IN RETAIL MANAGEMENT

Do you want to kick-start your career in a global fashion company and take part in shaping the future of retail? The International Business Trainee Programme in Retail gives you the opportunity to work at the centre of our commercial engine, where product performance, customer behaviour and operational excellence come together.

Retail is a broad specialist field that offers hands-on experience across key areas such as store performance analysis, product flow, planning, forecasting and operational processes. Throughout the two-year programme, you will be exposed to the full picture of retail at BESTSELLER, from understanding retail KPIs and stock movements to supporting strategy through data-driven insights and commercial decision-making.

This year, we’re looking for different roles within Retail, each offering a unique entry point into the world of store performance, planning and commercial optimisation.
You can read more about each role below.

In this role, you will work closely with Retail, Buying and Controlling teams to ensure that our stores have the right products in the right place at the right time. Your role centres around understanding retail KPIs, monitoring stock levels, and supporting the commercial planning that drives store performance across markets.

You will help analyse sell-through, stock development and product flow, translating your findings into clear actions that support our retail strategy. This includes contributing to assortment planning and controlling, supporting allocation and replenishment processes, and maintaining NOOS norms on a bi-weekly basis. You will monitor performance across markets, prepare reports and dashboards, and provide insights that help optimise decision-making at both operational and strategic levels.

Collaboration is a key part of your role. You will work cross-functionally with Retail, Buying and Controlling to align commercial priorities and ensure smooth coordination between teams. Over the course of the programme, you will gain deep hands-on knowledge of retail planning processes and develop a strong understanding of how commercial decisions drive growth. This is a great fit for someone who is commercially minded, thrives in a structured environment and enjoys working with data that has a clear business impact.

Your profile

You are a communicative, analytical and structured individual with a strong commercial mindset. You enjoy working with numbers, identifying trends and transforming insights into concrete actions. You thrive in a collaborative environment and feel confident contributing to discussions with stakeholders across the business. You take initiative when processes can be improved and appreciate the balance between detail orientation and big-picture thinking in retail planning.

Your qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree within Business, Retail Management,
  • Economics or similar fields
  • Understanding of retail KPIs and commercial performance drivers
  • Experience working in a store is an advantage but not a requirement

  • International experience from studying or working abroad is an advantage

Within Retail data science, you will be at the forefront of transforming retail planning through advanced analytics, machine learning and data-driven decision-making. You will work on developing and implementing models that support demand forecasting, sales analytics, pricing and markdown optimisation, helping shape the way our retail organisation operates.

Your role includes conducting deep-dive analyses of product flow, buying calendars, budgets and campaign performance. You will support the optimisation of planning processes by rethinking tools and methods, helping ensure that retail decisions are based on reliable and forward-looking data. You will also prepare recommendations that guide key commercial moments, from allocation decisions to promotional strategies.

You will collaborate closely with stakeholders across Retail, Buying, Planning and Data, building strong relationships as you translate technical findings into practical business insights. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about the intersection of retail and data science, enjoys solving complex problems and is eager to apply AI and predictive modelling to real commercial challenges.

You communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and appreciate the value of cross-functional collaboration. You are proactive, detail-oriented and comfortable navigating both technical tasks and commercial discussions.
